After a second successful season in Concession 15 we are looking forward to year three with high expectations. Our Sheep season was great, We were 10 for 10 with our rifle hunters, averaged 9.5 years old and over 38 inches in length! Our best ram in 2006 was 44x43 and official B+C score was 175 1/8. Our best Ram in 2007 was a incredible 46 5/8 and scored official B+C 174 1/8!  Our oldest Ram was 13.5 and 40 ½ .

 

Our widest Bull Moose was over 66 inches and our highest scoring was 63 inches. We had one get away in the fog and snow that made our best bull look small! Overall, a great bunch of moose, but we had some very bad weather late in the season and a couple of bow hunters went home without bulls on the last hunt. In 2008 we plan to put in some new landing areas and open up two new camps. These will be mainly Moose, Caribou and Grizzly camps. With a lot better flying weather in 2007 and Mac and Darwin doing a lot more flying than 2006, we are getting a much better idea of where we need to be. The McNeil Lake area appears to have the largest Mountain Caribou  herd. We will be hunting this area again in 2008. as well we will be back in the Askin Lake and Magundy River and expect to take some great Moose and Caribou here again. We harvested two great Grizzly Bears this season. The berry crop was much less than in 2006 and we did not see as many bears this season.

Our fishing in the lakes were fantastic as usual. Rumor has it that a giant Lake Trout is biting off hooks in McNeil Lake! Come and try your Luck!
